Dr. Stephanie A. Coffman is a neurosurgeon who completed her neurosurgical residency and fellowship in spine surgery at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Louisville, graduating summa cum laude, and her medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where she was recognized with honors including the Glasgow-Rubin Citation for Academic Achievement and the Albert B. Chandler Award for the highest academic standing.
During her time at Wake Forest, Dr. Coffman undertook training in all aspects of neurosurgery, culminating in a fellowship focusing on the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of complex spinal disorders. Her clinical practice encompasses both general neurosurgery and complex spinal conditions, including the application of innovative minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Coffman is dedicated to managing her patients' overall health by focusing on conservative measures before considering surgical options, ensuring that her patients are well-prepared for surgery and have the best possible chance for recovery and achieving their personal health goals.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Coffman enjoys spending quality time with her family. She is married to Dr. Blair, a fellow physician in Knoxville, and together they have a young son named Holden, along with two cats, Sabrina and Salem.
