Overview

Carpal tunnel surgery is a procedure used to relieve pressure on the median nerve caused by compression in the wrist. This compression can result from repetitive motion, inflammation, or injury, leading to symptoms such as pain, numbness, and weakness in the hand.

Procedure Techniques:

• Cutting the transverse carpal ligament to release pressure
• Performed using either an open or endoscopic approach
• Minimally invasive with small incisions
• Local anesthesia commonly used
