Laminectomy is performed to relieve nerve pressure and pain caused by spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal canal that can develop due to bone spurs or aging.

Procedure Details:

  • Performed through the back of the spine under general anesthesia
  • Removal of the lamina and any bone spurs
  • Possible conjunction with spinal fusion
