Overview

Radiofrequency ablation is a procedure used to reduce chronic pain by disrupting the nerves responsible for sending pain signals. This is commonly performed in patients who suffer from back, neck, or joint pain that does not respond to other treatments.

Procedure Techniques:

• Heat is generated through radiofrequency energy to disrupt nerve function
• Performed under local anesthesia with image guidance
• Minimally invasive with small needles inserted into the skin
• Typically performed on an outpatient basis
