Ulnar Nerve Release

Overview

Ulner nerve release surgery is performed to alleviate compression of the ulnar nerve, which can cause symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and pain in the ring and pinky fingers. This compression is often due to repetitive motion or injury at the elbow or wrist.

Procedure Techniques:

  • Releasing the nerve from its compressed location
  • Performed at the elbow (cubital tunnel) or wrist (Guyon’s canal)
  • May involve repositioning the nerve to a more secure location
  • Minimally invasive with short recovery time

Conditions Treated:

  • Pain and numbness in the ring and pinky fingers
  • Ulnar nerve entrapment (Cubital Tunnel Syndrome)
  • Hand weakness or muscle wasting
  • Symptoms not relieved by braces or physical therapy
